The skeletons, who fought to the death

some more dramatic things happen in the theater, but here, author Jeremy Clay tells the unique story of fight against skeletons caught in a closed Chamber.
It had all the ingredients for a hit melodrama. A warm atmosphere. A terrible secret. Murder and secrets galore.
But although this story seems tailor-made for the stage, it actually played through directly above it. Top of the roof, more demand.
The bar of the theatre in the province of Alicante were signs of decay in 1867, so builders were in called and commissioned to replace them. They agreed to the charge, it was not nearly enough.
If they are torn the boards in the upper reaches of the Schauspielhaus, showed a narrow passage through the masonry. And hiding from sight for years, a few skeletons in the tattered remains of their clothes were shredded.

For the terrified workers was a nasty surprise, but the unexpected discovery of the corpses was something of a recurring theme in the 19th century. It was an era of unprecedented construction and with the soil is stirred up as never before, skeletons that popped up like cruel Jack-in-the-boxes. The remains of a postman behind a wall in North Carolina were bricked up in a particularly lurid case found letters his bag filled with half a century overdue.

But there was an extra twist to creepy find in Alicante. If the builders to overcome their shock, they took a closer look, and the story even darker bent.
The "two grisly forms", as the illustrated police news, they "were locked in a last, fatal embrace" described. One of the characters had buried a large knife deep in his chest. The handle fleshless hand was on the other hand the handle had a defective blade into his own neck.
"It was been sacrificed obviously the lives of the two men from the position of the fighters that a deadly battle had taken place,", the newspaper said.

So if the bodies fought to the death, how she came behind these wooden plates sealed? Good question, and it does not seem unduly the illustrated police news have worries.
But at least there was a note on the identity of the victim/Victimizer.
About 15 years ago, the paper said the theatre Carpenter disappeared without a trace. The very CHAP, in fact, that could have warned the owners that they had trouble looming with the beams in the roof.
Learn more about life in the Victorian era and 10 Victorian deaths was really bizarre
